Anorith appeared in 2002 video game called Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire. Anorith is an Old Shrimp Pokémon. It's possible to restore Anorith from a fossil, but this Pokémon doesn't do well in modern oceans because the environment is so different from its original home. It can swim very quickly with its eight wings.
Anorith is based on an ancient ocean-dwelling creature from the pre-cambrian era called anomalocaris. It uses the fins on its back to propel itself through the seas. It has one pair of large eyes, and a pair of claws that eventually would become a Claw Fossil found in the Hoenn region. Small eyes also appear to stick out of its face. The eight wings along Anorith's body wave in sequence to propel it lives.
