Armaldo appeared in 2002 video game called Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire. Armaldo is a Plate Pokémon. After evolving, Armaldo lives primarily on the land, though it still hunts for food in the sea. This ancient Pokémon has been revealed as the ancestor of some modern Bug types.
Armaldo is based on the extinct Anomalocaris, while also sharing traits with the Therizinosaurus.
