The Sylvans, a.k.a. Keepers of the Trees, are a community of sorcerers who inhabit the realm known as Dark Woods, accessible by a portal from Sherwood Forest, England. Their abilities include vast control over magic and the potential to become biologically immortal. The "dragon woman" Alina was originally a Sylvan outcast.
